For some reason I'm happier to work harder when I'm in the leading canoe. I think timing was a big issue for the other canoe, heard DougM calling out timing a few times. That said if I could follow Sabine or Jasen I would follow Sabine in a heartbeat, her stroke is so long and fluid and easy to follow. Jasen isn't bad, but there is something nice about following a longer reached stroke. It was a great paddle last night.
